1) DC TORQUE MOTOR
The Direct Drive DC torque motor is a servo actuator which can be directly attached to the load it drives. It has a permanent magnet (PM) field and a wound armature which act together to convert electrical power to torque. This torque can then be utilized in positioning or speed control systems. In general, torque motors are designed for three different types of operation:
High stall torque ("stand-still" operation) for positioning systems
High torque at low speeds for speed control systems, and
Optimum torque at high speed for positioning, rate, or tensioning systems

2) PERMANENT MAGNET DC MOTORS
Pacific Scientific offers over 40 standard PMDC SCR rated, low voltage, wash down duty and explosion proof models from 1/8 to 3 HP (93 to 2240 W). Standard motors are UL Recognized or Listed. Most standard models are also CSA Certified.
Pacific Scientific's PMDC motors can also be custom designed for your application. We've built thousands of custom designs and can build custom motors to meet your specific application requirements.

3) STF SERIES - WASHDOWN FOOD GRADE MOTORS
"Sealed-Tight-Food" grade motors are washdown designs certified by BISSC, the Bakery Industry Standards Committee.
These motors are for use with 90 and 180v DC SCR power supplies.
90v ratings include 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 and 1.0hp at 1750rpm.
180v ratings include 1/2, 1.0, 1.5 and 2.0hp at 1750rpm |

4) SR90 & 180 VOLT MOTORS
90 and 180v DC motors for use with SCR power supplies
90vdc ratings include 1/8, 1/4, 1/3, 1/2, 3/4 and 1.0hp at 1750rpm.
180vdc ratings include 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, 1.0, 2.5, 2.0 and 3.0hp at 1750rpm.
"SR" motors are TENV - Totally Enclosed Non Ventilated
"SRF" motors are TEFC - Totally Enclosed Fan Cooled. |

5) EP SERIES EXPLOSION PROOF MOTORS
Explosion-Proof PMDC motors are available for use with12 or 24 volt battery systems, or for use with 90 or 180v SCR controls.
12vdc includes one rating of 1/3hp at 1750rpm
24vdc ratings include 1/3 and 3/4hp at 1750rpm
90vdc ratings include 1/4, 1/3, 1/2 and 3/4hp at 1750rpm
180vdc ratings include 1/4, 1/2 and 3/4hp at 1750rpm |

6) BA 12 & 24 VOLT MOTORS
Low Voltage motors for use with 12 or 24v battery systems.
12v ratings of 1/4, 1/3 and 1/2hp at 1750rpm.
24v ratings of 1/4, 1/3, 1/2, 3/4, and 1.0hp at 1750rpm.
"BA" motors are TENV construction - Totally Enclosed Non Ventilated.
"BAF" motors are TEFC construction - Totally Enclosed with an External Fan. |

7) LOW INERTIA MOTORS
Servo Disc / N / U / Gear motor / Ferrite / JR / Platinum
This family of servomotors has unique characteristics that provide ultra-fast positioning performance to meet the most demanding incremental motion control requirements. Their low inertia rotors, coupled with very high pulse torque capabilities, result in a family of very special motors. They have very high torque-to-inertia characteristics to move loads through extremely fast and precise start-stop sequences and speed profiles. These types of motors are also referred to as:
